Hello there!

I'm Christina and welcome to baking with beurre, a humble baking blog of mine!

Beurre is a French word for ‘butter’ and that, to me is one of the essential ingredients to baking a good old cake.

I’m a Thai born Singaporean and grew up in Singapore for most of my life. Happily married to my soul mate, Ben (Benjamin) and enjoying every bit of married life! I’m best described as someone whom possesses a strong positive character, outgoing, treats strangers nice, but even nicer to those I know. I live by the notion that “things will fall into places at the right time” as a reminder not to take life seriously when things doesn’t go according to plans. 

My passion for baking came about, after I got married to the love of my life. There's this lovely vintage standalone oven in his kitchen, and I keep finding different recipes from books, internet, and magazines - just so I can use that oven to bake cakes, cupcakes, cookies and fill the kitchen with that sweet, buttery aroma!

Baking is more than just a hobby to me; it’s my form of self therapy. It makes me happy and even happier when the people around me enjoy the stuff I bakes!

I am at my happiest when I'm creaming butter and sugar and weighing flour on the scale!

On days when I'm not getting floured, I enjoy watching a good movie, reading a book or just hanging out with my families & friends over good food!

Moving on, I've been blessed and am now on the road to fulfilling a dream. Henceforth, this blog was created for me to document my baking journey and I hope that one day, I’ll be able to churn out beautiful bakes just like those I’ve come to appreciate from shops, books and so much more!
